20 years ago, this table in the Hiram, Georgia Chic Fil-A became the functioning office of the founding pastors at West Ridge Church. The amount of sweet tea consumed is basically immeasurable, the number of chicken nuggets-unknown! It was in this semi-hallowed corner that Brian met with countless people as we embarked on a journey to start a church for unchurched people, most of whom were fans of the original chicken sandwich!
Twenty years later, the number of people that have come to West Ridge has blown us away. The number of people who serve faithfully and give sacrificially is humbling. BUT..... this table is NOT about numbers. It is not about retweets or likes on social media. It is not about fancy, and it is not about a big building. This table represents PEOPLE, and Jesus loves people. All people. The best leadership qualities that I observe are related to loving people. Listening to people. Praying and caring for people. For Jesus, himself, was the best leader, and he was always moved by people. As we celebrate 20 years of West Ridge, we are honored to be a little part of what God has done and is continuing to do in northwest Atlanta. Happy birthday West Ridge! May we always love people like Jesus does!
